On Saturday, June 27, Saarpfalz Tourism invites you on a special discovery tour: the Biosphere Safari “Buffalo View and Farm” through the biosphere promises unforgettable nature and cultural experiences! On a day trip, participants will explore selected highlights of the unique cultural and natural landscape of the northern Saarpfalz district around Höchen, the local recreational area Jägersburg, and Beeden, guided by an expert nature and landscape guide. The safari starts at 10 a.m. at Homburg main train station. Using modern buses – free of charge for participants thanks to the support of the Sustainable Mobility Unit of the Saarpfalz district – the tour first heads to Höchen, a district of Bexbach. There, the Glan cattle of Feilbacherhof Biosphere Safari Page 1 will be visited, which guests can reach by a short hike from Websweiler. Here, the modern agricultural operation with its milk production will be toured. From there, public transport continues to the Jägersburg castle pond, where a warm snack awaits the participants. The bus ride continues to the Beeden biotope with a walk to the viewing platform overlooking the buffalo. The return trip to Homburg main train station rounds off the day – with many new impressions in tow. The price is 22 euros per person, including professional accompaniment on the bus, guided tours at the highlights, and a warm snack. The bus ride is free and sponsored by the Sustainable Mobility Unit of the Saarpfalz district.
