On Saturday, June 27, Saarpfalz Tourism invites you on a special discovery tour: the Biosphere Safari offers the experience of “Buffalo View and Farm” through the biosphere with unforgettable nature and cultural experiences waiting! On a day tour, participants will explore selected highlights of the unique cultural and natural landscape of the northern Saarpfalz district around Höchen, the Jägersburg recreation area, and Beeden, under the expert guidance of a nature and landscape guide. The safari starts at 10 a.m. at Homburg main train station. Using modern scheduled buses – free of charge for participants thanks to the support from the Unit for Sustainable Mobility in the Saarpfalz district – the tour first goes to Höchen, a district of Bexbach. There, the Glan cattle at the Feilbacherhof Biosphere Safari on page 1 will be visited, which guests reach with a short hike from Websweiler. Here this modern agricultural operation with its milk production is toured. From there, travel continues by public transport to the Jägersburg Castle Pond where a warm snack awaits the participants. The bus ride continues to the Beeder biotope with a walk to the viewing platform overlooking the buffalo. The return trip to Homburg main train station completes the day – with many new impressions in store. The price is 22 euros per person including professional accompaniment on the bus, guided tours at the highlights, and a warm snack. The bus ride is free of charge and sponsored by the Unit for Sustainable Mobility in the Saarpfalz district.
