Great sporting success for the St. Ingbert boxer Monika Sorce: The native of Oberwürzbach has secured the world championship titles of the WBU and AFSO associations in S/Pro boxing. At the Panther Gym in Cologne, she won by technical knockout in the third round against the strong Austrian professional boxer Eva Hubmayer.
Winning the title is the pinnacle of an extraordinary athletic career. After a total of 22 years in boxing, Monika Sorce has now, at the age of 43, achieved her great goal and crowned her career with the world championship title in professional boxing. She had already won a world championship title in kickboxing in 2019.
Monika Sorce is coached and trained by her husband Alessandro Sorce, who has accompanied her on her athletic journey for many years and has contributed significantly to this success.
Mayor Ulli Meyer congratulates the successful athlete on her outstanding achievement:
"Monika Sorce has achieved an extraordinary accomplishment with her world championship title. She impressively proves that passion, discipline, and perseverance can still lead to great success even after many years. With her athletic career and her title win, she represents our city far beyond the borders of St. Ingbert in an excellent manner. I warmly congratulate her as well as her coach and husband Alessandro Sorce and wish them both continued success in the future."
