Daycare at Spellenstein and Luitpold Daycare visit the MINT Campus together – Researching, marveling, experimenting
An exciting day full of discoveries awaited the children from the Kita am Spellenstein and the Kita Luitpold: together they visited the MINT Campus and immersed themselves in the world of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology.
Curiosity was high from the moment of arrival. There were stations everywhere where you could try out, research, and experiment. The children were encouraged to be active themselves: to conduct simple scientific experiments, test materials, and solve small tasks. The focus was not on the "correct result," but on independent discovery and experimentation.
The areas where water and air could be explored playfully were particularly popular. The children watched with wide eyes as substances changed. Educational professionals accompanied the groups and supported the children in describing their observations and understanding initial connections.
The visit vividly demonstrated how early childhood education in the STEM field can work: through playful learning, shared experiences, and plenty of room for questions. Social interaction also played an important role – the children from both daycares worked together, helped each other, and shared their discoveries.
At the end of the day, everyone agreed: the visit to the STEM campus was a complete success and sparked great enthusiasm for science and technology among many children. Perhaps the foundation was even laid here for the researchers of tomorrow.
