Since March 2026, the L 122 between Oberkirchen and Freisen has been renewed over a distance of approximately 1.7 kilometers in two construction phases. In addition to renovating the roadway, this included the repair of sidewalks as well as the renewal of safety barriers and signage. The project is funded by the state and the municipality of Freisen.
On June 22nd, Minister Petra Berg, Werner Nauerz (Director of the State Road Construction Authority), and Karl-Josef Scheer (Mayor of the municipality of Freisen) will reopen the road to traffic.
