PM_Successful disabled athletes in the Saarlouis district honored
In the large conference room of the Saarlouis district administration office, deserving disabled athletes from the district were recently honored for their achievements in the past 2025/2026 season. Words of recognition were given by District Administrator Patrik Lauer, Monika Braun, district officer for education and construction, as well as Axel Riedschy, president of the Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports Association (BRS) Saarland. The musical accompaniment was provided by Michelle Jenal on the saxophone.
District Administrator Patrik Lauer welcomed the guests, among them several representatives from the respective municipalities: "Today, we do not only want to celebrate the achievements of our athletes but also what they stand for. Because they are all ambassadors for people with disabilities. They show us that sports are for everyone and that they connect us all."
Axel Riedschy joined in the words of praise and honored the importance that the Saarlouis district attaches to disabled and rehabilitation sports. On this occasion, he also promoted the Special Olympics National Games Saarland, which will be held this year in the Saarlouis district.
For more than 35 years, the Saarlouis district has been highlighting outstanding achievements in the field of disabled sports in various disciplines as part of its athlete awards.
