St. Ingbert, 09.06.2026
As of June 1, 2026, Dr. Jan Reisdorf has taken over the position of Chief Physician of the Clinic for Geriatric Medicine in St. Ingbert. The specialist in internal medicine, geriatrics, and emergency medicine brings many years of experience in caring for elderly patients and focuses on a modern, holistic, and cross-sector approach to geriatric care.
“The hospital in St. Ingbert is already very well equipped for the care of elderly patients, especially after fractures, through geriatric rehabilitation as well as orthopedics and trauma surgery,” said Dr. Reisdorf. “I would like to further intensify the already close cooperation together with the other clinics of the facility as well as with regional health partners and the practicing colleagues.”
Dr. Reisdorf sees the central focus of his work in the treatment of patients with multimorbidity, where multiple chronic diseases must be considered and treated simultaneously. Another important aspect is polypharmacy. Through the structured review and optimization of medication plans, undesirable interactions are to be reduced and therapy success improved.
In addition, Dr. Reisdorf attaches great importance to nutritional medicine. The early detection and treatment of malnutrition, as well as individually tailored nutritional concepts, significantly contribute to maintaining mobility, independence, and quality of life for older people.
“With Dr. Reisdorf, we are gaining a chief physician who impresses with his professional expertise and his roots in the region. His focus on cross-sector collaboration particularly strengthens our facility, especially with regard to the upcoming hospital reform,” says Peter Zwirner, Managing Director of the St. Ingbert District Hospital.
The St. Ingbert District Hospital stands for patient-oriented healthcare with a special focus on family-centered care, modern orthopedics, and specialized geriatric medicine. As an important regional healthcare provider, the hospital continuously works to further develop its services for patients while also being an attractive employer in the region.
