Visitors of the St. Wendeler City Festival can expect two days filled with live music, dancing, fun for young visitors, and good food on June 12th and 13th.
"Our City Festival offers everything that the heart desires musically. Here, Rock, Pop, Reggae and Blues meet – just like the local and international artists and visitors who come together in St. Wendel to celebrate with each other," said Mayor Peter Klär, who will officially open the festival on Friday evening with the traditional keg tapping.
A highlight of the evening will be the arrival of torchbearers from the Special Olympics National Games 2026, who are expected on the Schloßplatz around 18 o'clock, where the Samba Group of Lebenshilfe St. Wendel will musically welcome the evening.
A festival for all generations
The Schloßplatz forms the heart of the festival. There, a varied stage program is offered on both days.
After the ceremonial opening on Friday evening with the Samba Group of Lebenshilfe St. Wendel, the band "Herr Marie" with their own songs and their high affinity for Lebenshilfe and people with disabilities seamlessly fits into the program from 19 o'clock. Before that, Kai Bosch will give excerpts from his comedy program.
The Saturday afternoon begins at 2 o'clock with the approximately 50 musicians of the Youth Project Orchestra of the Music School of the St. Wendel District under the direction of Claudia Wälder-Jene. The afternoon is shaped by the Show Dance Groups of TV St. Wendel, before the bands "Theke 1" and "The Beavers" share the stage from 8 o'clock and play hits and evergreens without interruption for four hours.
