The Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Digital Affairs and Energy is awarding the Saarland Publishing Prize for the first time with the support of Dock 11.
The goal is to strengthen independent Saarland publishers and increase their visibility. For this purpose, €70,000 is available.
The Saarland publishing industry is an indispensable part of our creative economy. With the Saarland Publishing Award, we specifically support independent publishers in expanding their performance, increasing their resilience, and successfully asserting themselves in the competition. I look forward to numerous creative submissions.
The prize money will be awarded in five categories as well as two special prizes:
· Fiction
· Non-fiction/Regional studies
· Comic/Graphic Novel
· Children’s and youth book
· Literary translation
· Special award for socially relevant topics related to democracy and coexistence
· Special Award "The Beautiful Book" for specially designed publications
Planned or completed book projects, audiobooks, and for the category Comic/Graphic Novel also digital or project-related exposés can be submitted. For the special prize "The Beautiful Book," the works must already be completed and published.
Applications for the Saarland Publishing Prize can be submitted until August 19, 2026. The award ceremony will take place on November 10, 2026, at Dock 11 in Saarbrücken.
