Press release: Health Promotion of the Saarlouis District provides information on the topic of heat during the torch run
While on Thursday, June 11, 2026, the torch of the Special Olympics National Games Saarland is carried through the Saarlouis district, the nationwide Heat Action Day is taking place simultaneously. The municipal health promotion of the Saarlouis district has taken this as an opportunity to raise awareness about the issue of heat along the route through the district.
The torch day will begin at 10 a.m. at the Saar-Polygon in Ensdorf. At the foot of the slag heap, an interactive festival will be offered, in which several departments of the Saarlouis district administration will also participate. Included are the youth welfare office with a face painting activity for children as well as the municipal health promotion with an information and crafting booth, where, among other things, UV bead bracelets can be made, which change color in the sunlight.
And also at the big closing party, which starts at 7 p.m. on the Ravelin V in Saarlouis, the Youth Welfare Office, the Tourist Info, and the municipal health promotion are involved. In addition to other highlights, guests can enjoy music from "Dreierpasch," a photo booth on the topic of heat protection, as well as food and drinks.
The exact schedule of the Torch Day on Thursday, June 11, 2026, can be found on the homepage of the Saarlouis district:
