On safari through the homeland – Discover the Bliesgau Biosphere by bus and hiking boots
Who says you have to travel far for a safari? On Saturday, June 6, Saarpfalz-Touristik invites you to a special discovery tour: The Biosphere Safari takes you through the "City and Countryside – Hand in Hand" biosphere, offering unforgettable nature and cultural experiences!
On a day tour, participants explore selected highlights of the unique cultural landscape of the Bliesgau and the city of St. Ingbert under the expert guidance of a nature and landscape guide. The safari starts at 10 a.m. at the Rendezvousplatz in St. Ingbert.
With modern line buses – free of charge for the participants thanks to the support of the Sustainable Mobility Unit in the Saarpfalz district – the journey initially goes to Heckendalheim in the Mandelbachtal. There, orchards and fruit, as typical elements of the regional cultural landscape, introduce the theme of the day. Afterwards, the participants hike along a small section of the Roman Trail, passing farms on the way to Assweiler.
From there, the journey continues by public transport to Erfweiler-Ehlingen. A walk past the day laborer’s house leads to the Josef Chapel and the Hölschberg, concluding with a warm snack at the Katharinenhof Golf Club.
The return trip to St. Ingbert rounds off the day – with many new impressions in tow.
The price is 22 euros per person, including professional accompaniment on the bus, guided tours at the highlights, and a hot snack. The bus ride is free of charge and is sponsored by the Office for Sustainable Mobility in the Saarpfalz district.
The meeting point is at 10 a.m. at the bus station in St. Ingbert and ends around 6 p.m. at the same place.
