Saarlouis District: Around 1,890 construction workers employed in 154 companies Bigger pay envelope: Construction workers in the Saarlouis district are to undergo a "wage check"
Thicker paycheck for construction workers: Those working in construction in the Saarlouis district should take a close look at their current payslip. This is advised by the Industrial Union for Construction, Agriculture and Environment (IG BAU). "A wage check is worthwhile. The collective wage for skilled workers increased by nearly 1 euro per hour in April. That's an increase of 3.9 percent. As a result, from concrete and road builders to bricklayers, crane operators and office staff, anyone with a full-time job should now see almost 168 euros more per month in their salary account," says Ute Langenbahn from IG BAU Saar-Trier. The current hourly wage for a skilled worker is now 26.05 euros. According to IG BAU, around 1,890 employees work in 154 construction companies in the Saarlouis district. The union bases this on figures from the employment agency.
