Ottweiler, May 5, 2026 – The new carnival association „Närrisches Erbe Ottweiler“ was founded in Ottweiler on May 5, 2026. The goal of the association is to preserve, continue, and enrich the carnival traditions in Ottweiler with new impulses.
Eleven founding members gathered for the inaugural meeting. The meeting was opened by Alexandra Ames. After confirming the proper invitation and quorum, Werner Jungfleisch was unanimously elected as the meeting chairman. Julienne Spataro took over the record keeping.
The founding members present unanimously decided to establish the association under the name „Närrisches Erbe Ottweiler“. Subsequently, the statutes were discussed, amended, and unanimously adopted. Among other things, the invitation period for members' meetings was set to four weeks and the statutes were supplemented accordingly.
The contribution regulations were also adopted. The planned annual fees are 20.00 euros for adults, 15.00 euros for youths up to 18 years old, 30.00 euros for families, and 15.00 euros for pensioners.

All board members were unanimously elected and accepted the election.
Christine Leibrock and Willi da Silva Borges were elected as auditors. They were also unanimously confirmed and accepted the election.
The founding meeting also unanimously decided to register the association in the register of associations, to use the addition "e.V." after successful registration, and to apply for non-profit status at the responsible tax office.
For the first year of the club, initial activities have already been planned. These include, among other things, the opening of the carnival season, the awarding of the Golden Jester's Cap, and the hosting of a house ball. In addition, it was proposed to designate the castle restaurant as the club's venue in the future. A final discussion on this is to take place at one of the upcoming board meetings.
With the founding of the association, a new chapter of the Ottweiler Carnival is to be opened. The Foolish Heritage Ottweiler aims to preserve tradition, promote community, and dynamically develop the carnival culture in Ottweiler.
