Farewell to the Holy Spirit Church in Dudweiler
Dudweiler. The Dudweiler/Herrensohr district of the Protestant United Church Community Fischbach-Sulzbachtal is saying goodbye to the Holy Spirit Church in Dudweiler. After the decision to give up the church building from 1967 in need of renovation was already made last year, the official decommissioning is now imminent. The service with deconsecration will take place on Whit Monday, May 25, at 11 a.m. in the church (Martin-Luther-Straße 9, 66125 Saarbrücken).
Following the church service, the congregation invites you to stay in the adjacent community center. In addition to lunch as well as coffee and cake, there will be musical performances, a presentation by the circus club of the Dudweiler community school, and interactive activities for children.
In addition to the church, the associated bell tower, the parsonage, and the nearby Protestant community center will be closed as of September 1st. The operation of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer House daycare center will continue independently of this.
The municipal area of Dudweiler/Herrensohr will still have two churches and community centers after the disposal of properties in Dudweiler-Süd: the Christ Church with the adjacent Oberlin House in Dudweiler, as well as the Cross Church with community rooms in Herrensohr.
Best regards
