Discover art in public spaces: Two art walks and a photo walk by the vhs Völklingen
On Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11 a.m., the vhs Völklingen invites you to an inspiring "Art Walk – Sculptures and Statues in Public Spaces." During this guided tour, participants will discover fascinating artworks in the cityscape together with the course instructor Traudel Bennoit. These pieces, belonging to the public, are not only experienced but also made tangible here. The tour offers new perspectives on familiar places and invites you to experience Völklingen with a sharpened eye for art. (Course number 261201140)
Also, the vhs Völklingen offers the "Urban Art Walk Völklingen – Graffitis and Murals in the City" on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 11 a.m. This art walk is dedicated to the vibrant street art scene of the city and leads to impressive graffiti and large-scale murals. Participants receive exciting insights into the backgrounds, techniques, and messages of the urban artworks. The Art Walks are a cooperation with the Völklingen Tourist Information. Völklingen has a lot to offer from a photographic perspective – often these are places people know but have not yet seen presented in photographs. The photo walk on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 3 p.m. is aimed at those interested in changing their perspective and thereby being able to take interesting photos even with a mobile phone. The course is a cooperative event with the Völklingen Photo Club 1927 e.V. and is intended for photography beginners or those who want to improve. (Course number 261202005)
