Study Trip to Crete: Places Still Available - Info Evening
There are still places available for the study trip of the Evangelical Comprehensive Church Community Fischbach-Sulzbachtal "In the Footsteps of the Minoans" to Crete from September 18 to 28, 2026. Anyone interested in non-binding information about the spiritual-historical educational trip has the opportunity to do so at an information evening on Tuesday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Evangelical Community Center Sulzbach (Auf der Schmelz 22). Pastor Armin Kopper, an expert in Greek language and cultural history who will accompany the travel group, will present the program and organization of the trip.
Crete, the largest island of Greece, offers a wealth of well-known and lesser-known gems – ancient palaces, Venetian old towns, Byzantine churches, and impressive coastal landscapes. In addition, the Minoan civilization is considered the origin of European culture. To this day, vibrant village traditions invite visitors to engage. The trip includes excursions to Heraklion, Malia, Gortys, and Rethymnon, among others. The visit to the monastery of Aghia Trias, founded in 1631, and an olive estate are also on the itinerary.
The participation fee for the eleven-day trip, including flight and accommodation with half board, ranges between 2,000 and 2,500 euros, depending on the room category.
Registrations and inquiries are always possible with Pastor Armin Kopper: Tel. 06821-869 20 57; Email: armin_frank.kopper@ekir.de.
