When the first sparks of the carnival ignite in January and our groups dance on stage with full energy, many think: This is the highlight – and then there is a break. But far from it! As soon as the last shower of confetti has fallen, the planning for the new season already begins for us. Because our work for the children does not end with the applause – it really begins then.
The starting signal goes off early
Even before spring arrives, our trainers brainstorm together with the caregiver teams: Which dances could fit? Which music moves us? What theme will carry us through the year? It's not just about movement, but also about creativity, community, and the question: How do we create an environment in which every child feels seen and valued?
The right tracks are edited, first steps choreographed, and training plans created. At the same time, we focus on further training. We are especially proud of our participation in the Juleica training – because we care not only about the children's dance development but also their protection and well-being.
Safety First
KG Die Rosselanos 1955 e.V. - Hugenottenstr. 20 - 66333 Völklingen A milestone: In 2025, we will be the first club in Saarland to introduce a mandatory first aid course specially designed for children for all our coaches and supervisors. A strong sign of responsibility – and a promise to parents and children: Your loved ones are in the best hands with us.
Taster Training Sessions & First Encounters
In spring, our taster training sessions begin. New children get to know us and our work and receive a lovingly compiled information folder – including team profiles, important contact details, and an emergency sheet. This way, we create trust and clarity from the very beginning.
A year full of experiences
The year is full of activities – and every event is more than just a program item. Our dance trainings enhance body awareness and discipline. Excursions and leisure activities promote cohesion. At Easter, we celebrate with a joyful children's festival where the entire club comes together.
We are also committed beyond the training room – for example, through projects like “Saarland Picobello” or our youth day, where we address important topics such as bullying, conflicts, group dynamics, and play pedagogy. Prevention work with our youth is important to us in order to strengthen the groups sustainably. Summer with Heart
A real highlight is our summer festival with a charity run for children with cancer – an event that connects, moves, and does good. Afterward, we take a well-deserved three-week summer break. KG Die Rosselanos 1955 e.V. - Hugenottenstr. 20 - 66333 Völklingen
Autumn & Christmas Joy
Back from the break, we immediately continue with new events where we perform or assist – also to help fill our club’s coffers a little. In autumn, the intense phase of performance preparations for September and October begins.
In November, we host our big Christmas baking day – a whole day where our youngest members up to the juniors bake cookies together. What isn’t eaten right away will be served at the Christmas party at cost price.
And then… session!
January brings the final highlight: the session!
One performance follows the next, countless kilometers are covered, props are prepared, costumes checked, children made up and motivated. The parades are also coming up – a highlight for many! By the end of the year, around 3,500 volunteer hours have been contributed by our team for the children, the community, and the culture. Because we love it. For our kids. For the joy. For the togetherness.
