It offers cyclists a convenient way to easily perform minor repairs and maintenance.
The ADAC service station is equipped with a variety of tools, including wrenches in different versions, a wheel stand for breakdown assistance, and an air pump.
"We are very pleased that the first service pillar of this kind in the Saarlouis district could be installed at such a central and heavily frequented location as the Undine," explains Marc Speicher, Mayor. "This pillar is an important component for promoting cycling and simultaneously strengthens the position of our European town as a bicycle-friendly city. Especially on the Saar Cycle Route, which represents an important traffic artery for tourists as well as locals and everyday cyclists, this installation was a logical step."
The location at the Undine combines the advantages of a central location with proximity to nature and is a popular destination for cyclists and walkers. The service pillar is accessible around the clock and can be used free of charge.
Dieter Ruck, Board Member for Tourism of ADAC Saarland, emphasizes: "With this initiative, we want to make cycling in the region even more attractive and provide reliable support to cyclists. Our goal is to promote sustainable mobility and enhance the Saar Cycle Path with this infrastructure."
The service pillar is a practical addition to environmentally friendly mobility and service quality, thereby complementing the tourist offerings in Saarlouis very well.
