In front of the invited guests from politics and the judiciary, the minister honored the extraordinary achievements of Hübinger, who has been practicing as a lawyer for 36 years: "In addition to his outstanding professional qualifications as a lawyer, Judicial Councilor Hübinger is particularly distinguished by his interpersonal skills. Especially impressive is his many years of voluntary commitment to the legal profession in Saarland. Before us today stands a truly deserving recipient of the Federal Cross of Merit."
Raimund Hübinger looks back on an unparalleled career and decades of commitment to the legal profession. In the early 2000s, he was elected to the board of the Saarland Bar Association, on which he served until July 2024 – nearly a quarter of a century. Since 2002, he was a board representative and member of the representative assembly of the Bar Association's pension fund. In 2008, he was appointed to the presidium of the Bar Association. Two years later, in July 2010, the members finally elected him president of the Bar Association – a position he held with great dedication and commitment for 14 years.
In addition to his work at the Bar Association, Hübinger was also a member of the Saarland Constitutional Court. In 2012, he was awarded the honorary title "Judicial Councillor" in recognition of his services.
