Particularly noteworthy from these areas are the interesting study trips, the wide range of lecture topics, e.g. in the fields of parent school, seniors, politics, local history, and much more.
For many years, the philosophy course with its changing topics has been a highlight.
Sustainable sewing, the goldsmithing course, and DIY spring decorations are wonderful workshops/courses for creative individuals.
Particularly noteworthy is the summer academy with its colorful range of offerings. In addition to the proven courses, new ones include the mosaic course, a course on Mexican art: carving animal figures and painting them in traditional Mexican style, or Japanese wood art – creating your own relief.
For the first time, an integrative course "Painting for People with and without Disabilities" is being offered in cooperation with Lebenshilfe Saarpfalz.
Indulge with the VHS: Our cooking classes take you on a culinary journey through Italy, France, and Turkey.
The Rohrbach/Hassel branch is also represented with many courses
The new program also offers a lot of variety for the Rohrbach/Hassel branch, and not just for children and seniors: in the health sector, "forest bathing," a new course "Stress-free into the weekend and through the week," as well as violence prevention/self-defense for elementary school children.
An herbal excursion as well as learning to ride a bike (also with an e-bike) for seniors and children are included, as well as a pony taster course. New is also a hike to Hochscheid and to a Celtic refuge fort. A tour of the farm, the oldest biodynamically managed farm in Saarland, is also part of the program.
In view of the upcoming federal elections on February 23, 2025, a workshop provides information about the federal elections, including "who, what, and how" is being elected.
In the creative sector, painting courses with palette knife techniques, creative experiments with sculptures, cutting and sewing, pottery courses, as well as macramé and bobbin lace courses are offered. There are also creative activities for children: painting, crafting, and soap pouring are available. Language courses in Spanish, Italian, English, and French are offered at many levels, as well as digital courses for seniors and beginners with no prior knowledge using tablets or laptops.
Even cooking classes in the lower church as well as "baking without sugar" are not missing.
