For the first time since January 1, 2009, waste disposal fees for the citizens of Völklingen will increase. In the meantime, they were even reduced by 10.3 percent as of January 1, 2018. The reasons for the currently necessary fee adjustment are diverse. These include, among other things, increased personnel costs, urgently required investments, higher disposal costs, as well as rising costs due to the Fuel Emissions Trading Act.
Specifically, this means an increase of between 0.63 euros and 1.26 euros per resident and per month for residual waste, depending on the bin size and family status. Those who own a bio-bin to reduce their residual waste must pay 1.12 euros more per month according to the 2025/2026 waste fee statute. The new statute comes into effect on January 1, 2025, and has been published online at www.voelklingen.de/ezv-amtliche-bekanntmachungen.
