The preventive program includes a total of 15 weekly meetings. It is designed to help children affected by their parents' separation cope with the accompanying changes and stresses within the family. A key goal is for the children to learn to better understand and express their feelings. In the group, they experience that they are not alone with their experiences, which provides relief and enables mutual support. The program is aimed at children between 9 and 12 years old.
The group is led by graduate psychologist Elke Desgranges and graduate social worker Christian Eckhardt-Schug. The meetings take place weekly from Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Psychological Counseling Center of the Saarpfalz District, Am Forum 3. The registration deadline is January 17, 2025.
In addition to the services related to the topic of "separation and divorce," families receive counseling on the following topics at the Psychological Counseling Center of the Saarpfalz District: parenting and developmental issues, kindergarten and school problems, family conflicts, separation conflicts during puberty, and behavioral problems in children and adolescents.
The consultation is confidential, and the advisors are bound by professional secrecy. All support services are free of charge and not dependent on referrals.
