„The new ICE connection is an important milestone for the transport links of Saarland. It complements the existing services and will have a positive impact on mobility throughout the entire region – a real benefit for both business travelers and tourists alike. As Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport, I have played a key role in advancing this project. I am pleased that it has now been realized.
In addition, the old direct connection, which was previously interrupted due to construction work, will also be resumed. These two travel options will offer passengers even more flexibility in the future and provide a positive boost to the Saarland economy.”
The new direct ICE connection between Saarbrücken and Berlin reduces the travel time to 6.5 hours. The departure from Saarbrücken is daily at 13:28, arriving in Berlin at 20:04. The return trip from Berlin starts at 7:57 and reaches Saarbrücken at 14:40.
On the way, the ICE stops at Homburg (Saar), Kaiserslautern, Neustadt (Weinstr.), Mannheim, Darmstadt, and Frankfurt (Main) Central Station.
