The Disability Advisory Board advises the city committees and the city administration on all matters of self-governance that affect people with disabilities. In spring 2024, it was newly appointed as scheduled. In upcoming publications, the individual members of the advisory board and the institutions they represent will be introduced one after the other. Citizens of the district town of Merzig are welcome to attend the public part of the advisory board meetings. The Advisory Board for the Concerns of People with Disabilities introduces itself My name is Eva Pilger. I participate in the Disability Advisory Board as a representative of "TRIAS" e.V.
The aid organization TRIAS e.V. has been caring for the needs of mentally ill and disabled people for many years.
We are committed to improving the living conditions and promoting the social and professional reintegration of the target group in the Merzig-Wadern district.
Our main goal is to help these people live their lives as dignified and self-determined as possible, outside of clinics and care homes.
We pay attention to upholding fundamental values and see the mentally ill and disabled person in their individual living environment with their abilities and talents.
Our assistance is oriented to the concerns of daily life; it includes support in everyday life, help with structuring the day, assistance in shaping the living environment, as well as support in work and professional life. We provide services within the framework of integration assistance.
In addition to our day center with contact point function, mention should be made here of our specialized service for independent living and housing for adult mentally disabled people, and the work training project (ATP).
The association employs 11 staff members, is a member of the German Paritätischer Welfare Association, and is recognized as a non-profit organization by the tax office. You can find us at the following address: Gutenbergstr. 1, 66663 Merzig.
