At the information desk, there were many addresses and informational materials about important and professional support services such as the nationwide helpline, the women's emergency call in Saarland, and the women's shelter in Saarlouis.
The aim of this campaign was to raise awareness of this issue and also to highlight possible ways to help.
„We want to encourage people to take a closer look and, in case of need, to offer help or to refer to existing support services,“ adds Sigrid Gehl, Women's Officer of the district town of Saarlouis.
The artist Mike Mathes, in line with the motto "Open eyes against violence towards women and girls," drew the eyes of interested visitors on a large canvas upon request. Many visitors informed themselves about the support services at the booth and had their eyes drawn by Mike Mathes.
The managing director of Globus, Oliver Kirch, also took part in this public statement against violence.
The finished artwork is displayed in various locations; currently, it can be admired at the Health Department and in the spring in the cafeteria of Globus.
The women's network thanks Globus Saarlouis for their kind support.
