The event kicks off next Saturday, December 7th at 4 PM with the official opening by Mayor Stephan Tautz, accompanied musically by the Lauterbach Music Association. Saint Nicholas has also announced his attendance for the opening and will bring small surprises for the children.
“In addition to the 200 square meter artificial ice rink for ice skating, the Völklinger Winter World offers young visitors a new highlight this year: The Polar Express, a small ride, invites children to a joyful train journey,” said Lars Hüsslein, managing director of the organizing Völklinger city marketing company GWIS.
From December 8th to 22nd, the Völklinger Winter World will be open daily from 12 PM to 8 PM, offering ice skating fun, the children's ride "Polar Express," mulled wine, and other typical winter treats.
On Sundays, there is also live music starting at 4 p.m. The Marching Band Völklingen kicks off on December 8th. It continues on December 15th with Chor4Sounds. To conclude the Völklingen Winter World, the Brass Band Ludweiler will perform on December 22nd and get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
