Over the course of two days, according to our research, all ATMs of Kreissparkasse Saarlouis in the district were out of service, which was an unacceptable situation for many citizens. The machines displayed an unfamiliar screen to users, on which the option to withdraw cash simply did not appear. This led to massive inconveniences and questions from customers who rely on cash to carry out everyday transactions.
It is currently unknown to us whether other financial institutions have experienced the same problems.
The urgency of this matter cannot be overstated: At a time when digital payment methods are gaining importance, cash remains an essential part of our economy. We therefore urgently demand a statement from the management of Kreisparkasse Saarlouis to understand how this systematic failure could have occurred and what measures are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future. Customers deserve transparency and security – and this crisis must be resolved as quickly as possible!
