Gudrun Bierbrauer-Haupenthal has been elected as the new Secretary General of the Liberals. The 48-year-old teacher wants to focus on the social market economy as a guarantee for growth and innovation in the upcoming election campaign. As a second pillar, the emphasis will be placed on education – because uniformity must no longer prevail there – rather, performance must once again be rewarded in this area as well. In the long term, she intends to dedicate herself intensively to a future-oriented alignment of the party, for example by strengthening the state specialized committees.
Party leader Oliver Luksic once again emphasized in his speech the urgent need for a political and economic fresh start after the end of the traffic light coalition. In addition, the delegates voted in favor of introducing a community emergency paramedic, expanding tax-favored private retirement provision to include self-employed individuals, entrepreneurs and freelancers, as well as the urgent demand to finally effectively counteract the shortage of doctors in Saarland.
