The aim of the inspection conducted by the commissioned planning office Hömme is to review and document the current conditions of the maintenance-obligated watercourses within the city area and to determine the necessary measures for watercourse maintenance.
A central component of the process is the digital recording of watercourse sections and the associated documentation of regular water maintenance work. Through efficient and sustainable water maintenance using georeferenced and digital recording, the current conditions are to be accurately captured, analyzed, and appropriate measures specifically derived. The use of modern technologies is intended to contemporaneously capture the processes related to water maintenance and simplify and optimize the processing and documentation by the staff.
This measure thus represents another step for the district town of Saarlouis on its path to becoming a modern SMART City, through which the administration is also intended to be made more efficient.
At the appointment, representatives of the city administration besides Deputy Mayor Gerald Purucker included Michael Hoffmann (Deputy Head of the Office for Civil Engineering and Surveying) as well as Dr. Andreas Ney (Office for Urban Planning, Building Construction, Monument Preservation, and Environment). From the planning firm Firma Hömme GbR, Managing Director Frank Hömme and his employees Marion Lusseau and Luna Schneider accompanied the meeting and also conducted the on-site inspection.
