In a cozy atmosphere, numerous clubs provide an inviting culinary offer with delicious treats. A special highlight is the now traditional Christmas bazaar, which takes place this year in the town hall. Here visitors will find all kinds of handmade items such as jam, wood carvings, stuffed animals, and gift tags. The bazaar is open on Saturdays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Sundays from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
The program begins on Saturday at 4 p.m. with the official opening by local head Sabrina Zewe, Mayor Cedric Jochum, the local heads of Heiligenwald, Stennweiler, and Landsweiler-Reden, and the choir of the Walter Bernstein Elementary School. At 6 p.m., the evening mass with Advent wreath blessing will take place in the parish church of St. Martin.
On Sunday, the Christmas market begins at 2 p.m. Of course, children can also look forward to the visit of St. Nicholas at 2:30 p.m., who will be handing out gifts. To conclude the joint Christmas market, the Harmonie Music Association invites you to the Advent concert in the parish church at 5 p.m. It is also worth mentioning that the internationally renowned and esteemed quartet "EnsembleTrombaFestiva" will captivate the audience with its exceptionally diverse repertoire.
The Support Association of the Catholic Kindergarten St. Elisabeth Heiligenwald, the Heiligenwald Gymnastics Club, the IG Madenfelderhof, the SPD local association, the CDU local association, the DRK Landsweiler-Reden, the Kolping family Heiligenwald, the HCV "Die Flitsch", the Low Performer Hollywood, the Support Association Children and Families Schiffweiler e.V. "Die Rasselbande", the Volunteer Fire Brigade Landsweiler-Reden, and all bazaar participants look forward to your visit!
The Christmas market is a time of reflection, togetherness, and festive joy. Unfortunately, it also brings some restrictions. Due to the market operations, it is not possible this year to access the houses on Klosterstraße as usual. The affected area is around the intersection of Klosterstraße and Martinstraße.
The municipality has made efforts to keep the inconveniences to a minimum and to keep the access to house entrances largely clear. Nevertheless, it cannot be ruled out that some driveways may be temporarily blocked.
For residents who cannot use their driveways as usual, an alternative is available: the parking spaces at the town hall will be made available during this period to compensate for the disruption as best as possible.
