Hospital reform needs clear signals

Saarland's Health Minister Magnus Jung emphasizes with regard to tomorrow's Bundesrat session, in which he will also participate himself: "The hospital reform cannot wait – not for lengthy discussions in the Mediation Committee and certainly not for a new government formation. The reform is already in full swing. Cooperations are being formed, duplication of structures is being eliminated, and the legislative changes are ready in the states' drawers. Changes to existing legislation can and will always follow afterwards. Saarland is always ready for constructive work on this. However, what we need now, the hospitals and the people in the region urgently require clarity first. We must not lose time, otherwise we endanger the maintenance of high-quality healthcare in the region."
