In a first step, the building will be converted for the voluntary all-day school (FGTS), which is currently accommodated in a rented building. In the future, the village youth of Niederwürzbach will also have their own meeting place in the new premises.
But this is just the beginning of an ambitious concept: With the "Neue Mitte Niederwürzbach," the city of Blieskastel plans to unite educational and social institutions in close proximity. In addition to the renovation of the new FGTS location, the adjacent elementary school will also be modernized. In a later phase, the elementary school will temporarily move to the MIP building to ensure smooth school operations during the renovation.
After all work is completed, the MIP building offers additional possibilities: The vacated spaces are intended to be used long-term for clubs, businesses, or even as residential space to sustainably revitalize the center of Niederwürzbach.
Interior Minister Reinhold Jost emphasizes the importance of this project:
“With the purchase of the former office building of the MIP Pharma corporate group, the city of Blieskastel is taking a decisive step in its comprehensive concept New Center Niederwürzbach. I see the spatial proximity of the daycare center, primary school and FGTS as a great advantage. Shorter distances and the shared use of resources create synergies from which the entire village community will benefit. It is especially important to me that we provide our children with the best possible learning environment – investing here is an investment in the future!”
The city of Blieskastel demonstrates with this project how targeted measures can not only strengthen education and social infrastructure but also sustainably promote community life and the attractiveness of Niederwürzbach.
