In recent days, the children of the municipal daycare centers Am Schlösschen, Berg, Bengesen, and Weinberg have been deeply engaged with the legend of Saint Martin. Under the motto "Sharing like Saint Martin," they collected durable food items together with their families to donate to people in need. On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the daycare centers handed over their fully packed bags of food to the Social Initiative Püttlingen e.V. (SIP) at the Multigenerational House, represented here by Hermann Wamme, Jürgen Detzler (deputy chairman), and Tanja Friedrich. In the presence of the daycare directors Janine Lackes (Kita Am Schlösschen), Lisa Bock (Kita Berg), Therese Lehnert (Kita Bengesen), Joel Friedrich (Kita Weinberg), the educators, the staff of the Multigenerational House, and Mayor Denise Klein, Jürgen Detzler warmly thanked everyone who contributed to this large donation. Mayor Denise Klein also expressed her gratitude to all those who participated in this wonderful and selfless action – true to the example of Saint Martin.
The donations are now distributed to people in need in the form of so-called "meal bags." The exact distribution dates can be found in the weekly program of the Multigenerational House.
