Children of all ages are invited to let their creativity run free and make Christmas crafts. Possible ideas include tree decorations, window pictures, or table decorations. The creative works are meant to brighten the Advent season for the seniors in the three senior facilities on Bahnhofsallee, Lisdorfer Straße, and Prälat-Subtil-Ring. The facilities would certainly also appreciate Christmas cards and letters. Everyone can participate in the campaign, including group projects from daycare centers or schools, such as collages. The only requirement is that raw materials be used in the spirit of sustainability, for example, ice cream sticks, clothespins, or napkins, as well as materials currently found in nature like chestnuts and pine cones. The Family Education Center has provided various printable and colorable instructions on their website https://www.fbs-saarlouis.de/ferienprogramm/. The finished craft, letters, or Christmas cards can be submitted until November 30th at the fair trade specialty store „La Tienda“, Weißkreuzstraße 10, Saarlouis during regular opening hours, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Every child will receive a small gift there as a thank you.
The campaign is a joint project of La Tienda (Fair Trade specialty store), "Villa Vivendi" (Association for Social Psychiatry), Diaconia thrift store, Catholic Family Education Center, and the municipal Department of Family and Social Affairs. sb
