The FDP Saar criticizes the policy of Health Minister Jung to limit the adjustment of hospital services to the city of Saarbrücken.
According to the health policy spokesman of the FDP Saar, Dr. Helmut Isringhaus: "Why wait for Lauterbach’s hospital reform or what will be left of it? It will only take effect later than expected, and it will not bring more money into the system. The healthcare system must be considered as a whole, and the right course must be set now. The attempt at an agreement between the two acute care hospitals in Saarbrücken and the associated promise of insufficient investment funding is not enough. Hospitals in the surrounding area will be pleased if services are no longer offered at Winterberg Hospital or Rastpfuhl Hospital. A meaningful structural consolidation can only be achieved with a strategically designed hospital plan for the entire Saarland. This would show that the state government is capable of meeting the future challenges of modern and at the same time patient-oriented healthcare."
