Saarbrücken. After unknown individuals set fire to two mattresses leaning against a house facade on the night of last Saturday (April 13, 2024), the Saarland police are relying on the help of the public.
At around one o'clock on Saturday (13.04.2024), passersby noticed two burning mattresses leaning against the facade of the property at No. 103 in Großherzog-Friedrich-Straße in Saarbrücken. Although the police officers who were alerted and arrived at the scene shortly thereafter were able to quickly extinguish the fire together with the fire detectors, damage to the house facade amounting to approximately 20,000 euros occurred. The fire department conducted a follow-up inspection and ventilated the property.
According to the findings of the fire investigators of the State Police Headquarters, the mattresses prepared for disposal were deliberately set on fire.
