The Ministry of the Interior is providing a needs-based allocation of 31,597 euros for the expansion of the basement of the community center in Oberwürzbach.
The project is also supported by the "Rural Development" program of the Ministry for Environment, Climate, Mobility, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. Together with the supplementary needs allocation from the Ministry of the Interior, the city of St. Ingbert receives total funding of more than 80,000 euros.
“The village community center in Oberwürzbach is a cultural, social, and communicative hub that is open to all citizens. It is also an important meeting place for club life. Such venues help preserve and further develop the village as an independent social space while simultaneously strengthening the community,” emphasize Interior Minister Reinhold Jost and Environment Minister Petra Berg. “Therefore, we are pleased that with the support provided, the village community center can be further expanded, creating a modern space for joint activities.”
The village community center was newly built in 2019. For cost reasons, only the ground floor was fully developed at that time. Now, the basement is to be fully completed, including a new multipurpose room and a new kitchenette.
Mayor Ulli Meyer: "I am pleased that we are completing the Oberwürzbach village community center. A big thank you goes to Minister Petra Berg and Minister Reinhold Jost, who are financially supporting our project. Through the expansion, we are providing the clubs and the village community with another meeting place in the village center. A village thrives on exchange and social interaction. This increases the attractiveness of Oberwürzbach."
