The preparations for this are almost complete. The employees of the municipal depot are once again doing their best this year to transform the marketplace into a festively decorated square. But the local clubs and the administration's organizing team are also putting in a lot of effort to offer visitors a cozy Christmas market that is meant to get them into the pre-Christmas spirit.
Come by to meet friends and acquaintances, and enjoy the selection of sweet and savory culinary delights, such as grilled game specialties, goulash soup, grilled sausages, Nikolaus steaks, sweet and savory waffles, and pastries. Perhaps you will also find a suitable gift while strolling and admiring the offered Christmas and gift items, such as handmade patchwork quilts, ceramic works, as well as glass bead jewelry and decorative items.[ad_content:1]
The children from our kindergarten, the elementary school children, as well as the Association of Music Friends entertain the visitors this afternoon with poems, songs, and music for the Christmas season. Naturally, Saint Nicholas will also come to the market again and, together with his helpers, distribute the deliciously filled linen bags to the children. This year, we will also have some animal guests at our Christmas market: the donkeys "Speedy" and "Gonzales" will visit to be admired and petted by both young and old visitors. After the children have been allowed to ride the donkeys, they can then relax at the upper market square by the open fire grilling bread on sticks, which will once again be offered this year by the Catholic Youth of Ensdorf.
Another highlight of this year's event will be the auction of the illuminated Christmas trees that transform the marketplace into a festive atmosphere. The entire proceeds from the auction will be equally divided between the Ensdorf Youth Fire Brigade and the Ensdorf Youth Red Cross. The auction includes the five illuminated Christmas trees kindly donated to us for this purpose by Bauhaus Ensdorf. The trees can be taken home directly at the end of the event or, upon request, on Sunday morning.
As you can see, our Christmas market has a lot to offer again. Stroll leisurely through our market to browse, shop for gifts, or simply enjoy hot drinks or a snack or two.
