Through the funding program "Digital Pact Schools 2019 - 2024" of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the city of St. Ingbert was given the opportunity to accelerate the digitalization of schools under its own sponsorship.
The equipment of elementary schools in St. Ingbert with digital media began already before the funding program and was able to be advanced quickly through the grants. The school locations are also well prepared for the announced media lending service of the state. "As a city, we place great importance on well-equipped elementary schools under our sponsorship. This also includes a modern digital infrastructure and equipment," emphasizes Nadine Backes, who is responsible for the area of children and education as deputy mayor.
344 iPads are available at the municipal primary schools
In the meantime, the schools have access to 344 iPads, which are actively used by the children of the primary schools in lessons. In addition, all classrooms in the schools have been equipped with digital whiteboard systems; currently, 60 systems are in use at the various locations. These consist of an Apple TV, an active speaker system, a control computer, an interactive short-throw projector, a document camera for presentation purposes, and the whiteboard itself.
The school buildings are equipped with comprehensive Wi-Fi, enabling the whiteboard systems and iPads to be fully usable in all classrooms.
Currently, the schools are being connected to the fiber-optic network, which guarantees a faster internet connection for everyday school use.
