On Thursday morning (12.10.2023), a serious traffic accident occurred on the B 51 between Fraulautern and Ensdorf, in which a car driver was seriously injured and two other drivers were slightly injured.
At around 09:25, a 26-year-old car driver from Saarlouis was driving her Ford Fiesta on the B 51 - coming from the direction of Fraulautern - heading towards Ensdorf.
In a long right-hand curve, the woman lost control of her vehicle for reasons unknown and veered into the oncoming lane. Here, she first grazed a Subaru with a trailer driven by a 31-year-old man from Nalbach. She then collided almost head-on with a Mini Countryman driven by a 73-year-old man from Bous, who was driving behind the Subaru.
The collision caused the engine block of the Ford Fiesta to be ejected from the vehicle.
The 26-year-old woman from Saarlouis was taken to a Saarlouis hospital with serious injuries. The two male car drivers sustained minor injuries. All vehicles involved suffered significant property damage.
The Saarlouis fire department was deployed to the accident site with several vehicles. Additionally, an emergency doctor, two ambulances, and the Saarlouis police were on site.
For the accident investigation, the B 51 was closed in both directions near the accident site for an extended period of time.
