Today, as part of the nationwide "Shift Change" action day, people with and without disabilities are once again swapping workplaces and thus getting to know each other's work environments. This creates space for new perspectives and helps to break down prejudices.

For the first time in Saarland, a minister also changed his workplace: Minister of Social Affairs Magnus Jung and Mr. Jörg Denne, state chairman of the workshop councils of Saarland, swapped their respective workplaces in the morning. Jörg Denne works at reha GmbH at the Saarbrücken location in the printing center.
Minister Jung emphasizes: "The shift change with Jörg Denne has given me deep and valuable insights into the diverse work of the workshops for people with disabilities, for which I am very grateful. For the Saarland state government, the workshops hold a very high importance. Today's experiences have once again made it clear to me how crucial adequate remuneration for the employees is at this point. The workshops have become an economic heavyweight. At the same time, the paid wages are far too low. Therefore, I advocate for a nationwide regulation of remuneration in accordance with the requirements of the minimum wage."

„The shift change with Minister Jung was an interesting opportunity for me to get to know the work and processes in a ministry better. I would also like to encourage other companies and institutions to open their doors to people with disabilities. Only in this way can mutual reservations be overcome and inclusion be lived in everyday life. Since the establishment of the workshop councils in 2005, there has been good contact with the Saarland state government. Interests and concerns have always been heard, and the exchange has always been constructive. Today's shift change with Minister Jung is a pleasing consequence of the good cooperation, for which I would like to sincerely thank,“ explains Jörg Denne.
The shift change between Minister Jung and Mr. Denne began just before 8 a.m. at the reha DruckCenter. After the ride in the ministerial vehicle, Mr. Denne met the minister’s staff and, for example, took part in the daily morning meeting, gained insights into office work, and learned more about the ministry’s work through various discussions. At the same time, Minister Jung spent several hours working in manual and machine-driven print finishing after a brief tour. In between, he also participated in the workshop council meeting, which he led together with the council members. The day ended with a joint lunch.
