"In Saarland, there are around 170 trained senior safety advisors," explains Karl-Hans Kraus, security officer in the city of Lebach. They inform older people about dangers in the home environment, public areas, and road traffic. Additionally, they provide solutions and offer competent assistance on how to protect oneself from crime and dangers or how to avoid them.
Senior security advisors act as a link between those affected and the police or other authorities. So if you have become a victim of a fraud scheme or have any other questions about your safety, you can always confidently turn to Karl-Hans Kraus or one of his colleagues.
Contact with the senior safety advisors can be made through Department 103 (Youth, Women, Seniors) and Ms. Ute Groß (Tel. 06881/59-257).
"In Lebach, the security officers have been conducting educational work on crime and dangers for over ten years. They offer lectures on a wide range of topics. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks for this," explains the mayor of Lebach, Klauspeter Brill. "Take the opportunity to get informed directly and competently on-site."
The next lecture under the motto "Safe living in Saarland" will take place on Thursday, April 20th, at 6 p.m. in the Lebach town hall.
The topic is "emergency preparedness and proper actions in emergency situations." The speaker, Bernd Paul, fire inspector of the Saarlouis district, will explain how to behave correctly in emergencies. Questions such as "What protective measures can I take during a storm, power outage, house fire, or flooding?" will be addressed. Admission to the event is, of course, free of charge.
