Therefore, after winter, the municipal administration wants to bring free spaces back into bloom. For this reason, flower mounds were already created by the public works department on municipal land at various locations in the autumn, and numerous flower bulbs were planted. This week, flowers were also planted at various town entrances and at the town hall.
„In addition to existing flowering areas, we want to create more areas this year. Furthermore, we are currently planning the replanting of, for example, traffic islands in Rehlingen, areas in the districts or at the town entrances. We are in discussions with the Saarlouis district to also obtain funding from the state. Thanks go to the district, which supports the municipality professionally with ideas,“ said Mayor Joshua Pawlak.
However, for such projects to be sustainable in the long term and, above all, to be implemented, voluntary green caretakers for various areas are absolutely necessary. Interested persons can contact Iris Mechenbier-Münz at 06835 508 408 or i.mechenbier-muenz@rehlingen-siersburg.de. The green caretakers receive a small expense allowance.
