Suspected Drunk Driving and Hit-and-Run Between Rissenthal and Hargarten

A crashed Skoda Octavia was found there. The vehicle had apparently left the road, causing minor damage to the area, and the airbags had deployed. However, no persons were found in the vehicle. A few minutes later, the driver of the vehicle contacted the Nordsaarland police station by phone. During the subsequent fitness to drive check, it was unfortunately determined that the person (a 36-year-old man from the municipality of Losheim am See) was heavily intoxicated. A blood test was ordered, and the driver's license was confiscated. Corresponding criminal proceedings were initiated.
