A truck driver continued driving after a traffic accident and then fled the scene. According to the police, the vehicle initially came to a brief stop. Afterwards, the driver resumed driving.

In the process, the truck collided with a car that was parked at the roadside. Additionally, property damage occurred to a stair railing. The involved vehicles were also damaged.

After the collision, the driver left the scene with his vehicle. He continued driving towards Völklingen. Alert bystanders witnessed the incident and called emergency services.

Soon after, police officers were able to locate the wanted vehicle in Völklingen. The driver was also found there. During the check, the officers detected a strong influence of alcohol.

The driver had to accompany the police officers to the station. There, a blood sample was taken from him. In addition, the officers confiscated his driver's license.

The police have initiated several investigations against the truck driver. He now faces charges including suspicion of hit and run. Suspicion of driving under the influence is also being considered.

The exact amount of property damage incurred is currently unknown.
