Julian Wasserfuhr is considered one of the greatest German prodigies on the trumpet. Together with his brother Roman on the piano, he forms an inseparable jazz duo.

The familiarity of the brothers gives their music a relaxed and effortless character. Whether with trumpet or flugelhorn, Julian creates atmospheric soundscapes with his warm tone. The fresh yet mature, airy sound is complemented by the accented and radiant piano playing of his brother Roman. After their highly praised debut album "Remember Chet," which they recorded at the ages of 17 and 20, they made their breakthrough in the German jazz scene. They have already played with greats such as Nils Landgren, Lars Danielsson, and Wolfgang Haffner. In the process, they increasingly found their characteristic melodically atmospheric Wasserfuhr sound. With six albums released to date, the brother duo is counted among the most renowned German jazz musicians. On their current album "Mosaic," they process the past years in a musical way.

The concert series Jazz im Schloss is under the patronage of Regional Association Director Peter Gillo. It is supported by SR2 Kulturradio as well as Saartoto. The idea and concept come from vhs director Dr. Carolin Lehberger as well as Dr. Peter Kleiß and Elfi Kleiß. The latter, as artistic director, focuses the series on musicians who are active in the Saarland

they have already performed with other formations. At Jazz im Schloss, they present their current projects in new line-ups.

The entrance fee is 25 euros, reduced to 20 euros. Tickets are available by email at vhsinfo@rvsbr.de, online at www.vhs-saarbruecken.de (course number AN2201D), as well as at the box office on the evening of the event.
