This requires people who are committed and willing to take action in their own environment. To support volunteer work in climate protection, Mayor Christian Jung and ARGE SOLAR Managing Director Ralph Schmidt signed a cooperation agreement on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Friedrichsthal Town Hall regarding the city's participation in the project KlikKS – Climate Protection in Small Municipalities and Districts through Volunteer Climate Protection Ambassadors. The nationwide project "KlikKS," funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWi) as part of the National Climate Protection Initiative (NKI), is implemented in Saarland by ARGE SOLAR e. V.
The climate protection sponsors are intended to develop and implement climate protection projects in their local area. They are supported and advised in this by the KlikKS regional managers of ARGE SOLAR e. V. In addition to training sessions, they also assist in acquiring funding. Furthermore, the climate protection sponsors get to know like-minded people in the Saarland and nationwide network and can exchange ideas with them. KlikKS municipalities such as the city of Friedrichsthal appoint their climate protection sponsors and support them with the dissemination of information, helpful contacts, the provision of rooms, or other practical matters. In the city of Friedrichsthal, Lisa Rothe has come forward as the first climate protection sponsor, bringing particularly extensive expertise: Ms. Rothe from Bildstock works full-time for the Energy Agency Rhineland-Palatinate and wants to commit herself voluntarily to climate protection in her home community. She hopes for many more equally motivated collaborators. Interested parties, preferably already with their own project ideas, should initially contact the representative at ARGE SOLAR e. V. for the city of Friedrichsthal, Mr. Olaf Gruppe, Tel.: 0681-99884-307, Email: gruppe@argesolar-saar.de. Ideas and further steps can be discussed with him, and he will establish contact with Ms. Rothe and other interested parties.
