A special award for lived inclusion was also given to the Johannes Kepler Gymnasium in Lebach. The development of values, attitudes, and social responsibility is among the guiding principles of the school.
“More and more companies are recognizing the great potential of people with disabilities. The Saarland Inclusion Award aims to make these positive experiences visible: it honors exemplary best practice examples in the employment of people with disabilities,” the minister explained during the award ceremony.
Presented with awards by Minister Dr. Jung were:
The minister extended special thanks to the Chamber of Labour, the Chamber of Crafts, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Association of Saarland Business Associations, the trusted employees in the companies, the rehabilitation consultants at the Saarland Employment Agency, the Inclusion Office with its staff, as well as the integration specialist services that participated in the tender.
The Inclusion Award is being presented for the 20th time this year. The award recipients have the right to publicly reference the award, especially in customer communications and advertising measures, for a period of three calendar years. Additionally, the winners receive a cash prize totaling 3,000 euros.
In conclusion, the minister hopes that even more Saarland companies will follow these examples to give people with severe disabilities a real opportunity: “Inclusion has many advantages: It contributes to securing skilled workers and is therefore an important competitive factor. Many employers therefore rely on inclusion and thereby strengthen their employer brand.”
