The park offers the opportunity for an exciting journey back to the time of the Celts and Romans. In addition to the vast outdoor area with numerous Roman excavations, there is a special highlight to discover: the reconstructed and walkable burial mound of the Princess of Reinheim. Furthermore, interactive participation stations are likely to be especially exciting for the younger generation.
The tavern team will also be providing visitors with treats again starting March 15th.
Special Exhibition
From May 27th, a special exhibition will be shown in the foyer of the Fürstinnengrab: “The Lady of Schengen.” Almost 25 years ago, near the shores of the Moselle between Schengen and Remerschen, the approximately 2,500-year-old grave of a richly equipped lady was discovered. The unique jewelry and grave goods, which were only recently carefully examined archaeologically and scientifically, are now being presented for the first time in a traveling exhibition. This exhibition takes young and old visitors on a journey of discovery, making Iron Age fashion and craftsmanship come alive through original finds, precise replicas, videos, and the latest reconstruction technology.
Events
In addition to the annually recurring events such as Samhain on October 28th, visitors are offered some highlights during the season. The joint event "Vita Romana" on August 12th and 13th is exemplary of cross-border cooperation. The children's festival is also organized together with French colleagues around the Princess's Tomb on May 21st.
During the Easter egg hunt on April 9th and 10th, the Easter Bunny hides some of his eggs in the museums and the grounds of the cultural park. Visitors can go searching with their children and receive a sweet surprise when they guess the correct number.
Tours
At the opening on Wednesday, March 15th, there will be a guided tour at 3 PM. Every first Sunday of the month at 11 AM, there will be an introductory tour.
On April 1st and September 30th, the Kulturpark offers special tours for senior citizens. These tours take into account the specific needs of this group, such as walking slowly or speaking louder.
