After the first two construction phases are almost completed, work on the next two construction phases is set to begin on Monday, 13.03.2023.
Left-turn lane towards the Stadthalle closed, detour signposted
In the upcoming third construction phase, city entry Merzig from Hilbringen, in the area of Lothringer Straße, planting work will be carried out in the central island. Unfortunately, it is necessary to close the left-turn lane towards the Stadthalle for this purpose. Vehicles with an overall height of more than 3.60 m will be diverted via the country road L 174 (former B51) to Rieffstraße towards the Stadthalle. Drivers with a vehicle height under 3.60 m can also use the route via the streets "Am Gaswerk" and "Zum Bauhof" to return to Brauerstraße. The closure of the left-turn lane will last approximately 1 week. The Stadthalle and "Stadthalle parking lot" are always accessible via the signed detour.
Construction work on the weekend, 18.03. and 19.03.2023, with full closure
For the construction work on the fourth section during the weekend of March 18 and 19, 2023, a full closure of the roadway from Hilbringen towards the city center/Losheim am See will be implemented. This is necessary due to the narrowness of the roadway and to carry out the planting work on the upper planting strip in the area of the Lothringer Straße bridgehead quickly and safely. The district town of Merzig asks for your understanding in this matter. A detour will also be signposted. Vehicle traffic will be directed via the L174 (former B51) / Rieffstraße towards Losheim or the town hall for the duration of the closure. The opposite lane coming from the city center towards Hilbringen remains open.
The lifting of all closures is planned from the early hours of 20.03.2023.
